Wild-Fires

Firefighting for the past three summers has been excellent.  I've been lucky enough to fight fires in my home town as well as in Wyoming and much of Eastern Oregon.  Obviously it's very hard work sometimes but it pays well and is quite a rush.  I dream of joining a smoke- jumping crew some day.  I'm settling for an engine crew this summer.

Me after a long day in Eastern Oregon.

The fun part of being on a saw squad.

A saw I used in Wyoming. 36 inch bar, I believe.

Teton Lake Fire, 2001.

Direct attack on the Complex fire, 2001.

Getting dropped off in the evening to dig line all night. We lost this fire the next morning.
