a.  go through the library tutorial (New York University Libraries): http://library.nyu.edu:8000/research/tutorials/boolean/boolean.html. It really does not take too much time to complete!!

b. here is another library web page (Loyola University, Chicago) with quick online exercises: http://libraries.luc.edu/seminar/0506/Search08.shtml. Use the link “Click to begin the search query exercise” under the door icon to start!  You will then be asked to select key terms and connectors by dragging the imaginary ”magnets” on the imaginary “fridge”… kind of fun! (click on the “check answer” button to receive feedback on your search queries).
