Special Study Abroad Programs

• Four Weeks in Costa Rica
  Study Spanish during a two-week homestay and earn 4 transfer credits; then earn another 4 credits in two weeks of field biology at mountainous Ecolodge San Luis, at La Selva in the lowland tropical forest, and at Cabo Blanco on the Pacific coast.

• Two Weeks in Mexico
  Four credits of immersion Spanish study in the charming highland capital city of Guanajuato.

• Spring Quarter in Paris
  Study in the City of Light at the heart of Europe.  COCC, as a member of the Oregon International Education Consortium, offers a 10-week program with tours, culture class, French and several other academic subjects.  Application deadline December 5, 2008. 

• Fall Quarter in Florence 
  Enjoy a European experience in the heart of a Renaissance city while pursuing your community college education.

• Gilman International Scholarship Program
  Up to $5,000 is available to students who are currently receiving a Pell Grant for their education at COCC.  Application deadline for the Spring 2009 program in Paris is October 7, 2008, with notification in December.

• German Exchange Program in Stadthagen, Germany
  Eric Tschuy (MHCC) and David Miller (CCC) are again coordinating the outstanding study abroad opportunity in Germany scheduled for next summer.  Watch for updates!
  
  Students will stay with host families and study German at Oregon’s sister school, die Berufsbildene Schule Stadthagen.  As this is an exchange, there is no charge for room or board, but students must agree to host a German student in the following fall.  They must also pay for their own round-trip airfare.  For more information, please contact Eric or David.
