Getting Started at COCC
Getting started at COCC is easy! Just follow the steps below and you'll be on the path to a great education! For more informational opportunities, see getting started successfully at COCC (pdf).
Steps to Getting Started at COCC
1. Apply to COCC
All new students (including transfer or those returning after a one-year or more absence) are required to complete a COCC application. All NEW students (those who have NEVER taken credit classes at COCC) must submit a $25 non-refundable application fee at the time of application. Applications will not be processed without the fee. The application fee can be paid online at the end of the online application, by phone at 541-383-7229, in person at Enrollment Services at any COCC campus, or via your Bobcat Web Account.
The application DEADLINE is 5pm, the Wednesday prior to the beginning of the term.
Application forms can be submitted online:
Transfer Students: Please see detailed transfer information.
2. Placement Information
Once admitted, students provide placement information, a requirement for all students taking credit classes. See Placement Information Options.
Students with documented disabilities needing accommodation for testing should contact the Office of Services for Students with Disabilities prior to scheduling the placement tests.
After students are admitted and have provided placement information, advising is the next step.
Advising is required for SPRING TERM for all new certificate/degree-seeking students; non certificate/degree-seeking students are not required to attend an advising session but are welcome to do so. See COCC's Advising website for helpful hints to get you started.
- New first-time freshman and transfer students with fewer than 20 credits (transfer or COCC credits) should make an appointment for New Student Advising which begins on March 17. You can make an appointment online or by calling Admissions (541.383.7500) or the CAP Center (541.383.7200).
