Getting Started at COCC

Getting started at COCC is easy! Just follow the steps below and you'll be on the path to a great education! For more informational opportunities, see getting started successfully at COCC (pdf).

Steps to Getting Started at COCC

Check Mark1. Apply to COCC

All new students (including transfer or those returning after a one-year or more absence) are required to complete a COCC application. All NEW students (those who have NEVER taken credit classes at COCC) must submit a $25 non-refundable application fee at the time of application. Applications will not be processed without the fee. The application fee can be paid online at the end of the online application, by phone at 541-383-7229, in person at Enrollment Services at any COCC campus, or via your Bobcat Web Account.

The application DEADLINE is 5pm, the Wednesday prior to the beginning of the term.

Application forms can be submitted online:

Transfer Students: Please see detailed transfer information.

Check Mark2. Placement Information

Once admitted, students provide placement information, a requirement for all students taking credit classes. See Placement Information Options.

Students with documented disabilities needing accommodation for testing should contact the Office of Services for Students with Disabilities prior to scheduling the placement tests.

Check Mark3. Advising

After students are admitted and have provided placement information, advising is the next step.

Advising is not required for SUMMER TERM.  The CAP Center will offer help sessions for students who would like assistance selecting courses (call the CAP Center at 541-383-7200 for questions).

Check Mark4. Registration

Summer term:
Certificate/Degree Seeking Students: registration will be available beginning May 7.
Non-Degree Seeking Students: registration will be available beginning June 18.

Students can register either online or in person at any COCC campus, once steps 1 through 3 (as applicable) are complete and students have received instructor permission for the class (if required).  See online login and registration directions.  Note: Before students can register for online classes offered by COCC, successful completion of the Orientation for Online Classes at COCC mini-course is required.

Summer term classes begin June 23, 2014.
