For more than 50 years, Central Oregon Community College Foundation scholarships have enabled students to learn new skills, earn technical certificates, complete two-year associate’s degrees and be prepared to pursue the remainder of their undergraduate studies at a college or university.
We are proud, and exceedingly grateful, that Central Oregon Community College (COCC) Foundation scholarships have impacted the lives of tens of thousands of Central Oregon students. These students come from all corners of the College’s district and share one belief – that education can change and improve their lives. Our scholarships provide financial support, but for many students being a scholarship recipient means something more. It means that someone, a local community member, believes in them enough to provide them with the financial resources needed to attend COCC. It means that someone else believes in their dreams.
Central Oregon Community College was established in 1949 and is the oldest community college in the state. COCC fosters student completion of academic goals, prepares students for employment, assists regional employers and promotes equitable achievement for the diverse students and communities that are served.
The COCC Foundation began in 1955 to support the mission of the college, with a focus on raising funds for scholarships based upon the demonstrated promise of the applicant along with their significant financial need.
Giving to COCC Foundation’s scholarship fund is an investment in individual students, but also an investment in the economic prosperity of the region. Students who earn an associate’s degrees earn 33 percent more than those with only a high school diploma.
