Cost of Attendance (COA)
Federal Higher Education Amendments allow colleges to provide for living expenses for students, not for other family members. The 2012-2013 COA budget will include tuition and fees, books and supplies, housing, food, transportation, and personal expenses for students attending COCC as a full-time student. Amounts shown in the chart comply with regulations, but may not accurately reflect your actual living costs. Note: tuition and fees are averaged at fulltime enrollment for fall, winter, spring terms.

Expected Family Contribution (EFC)
The EFC is the result of a formula developed by the Department of Education. Each student (and parent) who completes a FAFSA will be expected to contribute an amount toward educational expenses. The EFC is used to determine the level of federal and state grants for which the applicant is eligible, based on the information provided on the FAFSA. Financial need is calculated by subtracting the EFC from the appropriate standardized COA, as shown above.
