2010 Recipients

Margie Gregory

For several years, Margie has led the COCC Latino mentoring program, Oregon Leadership Institute, to advance the educational aspirations of Latino students. Through this program, students develop the confidence and leadership skills to become role models and mentors for future students. Margie has given countless hours of service to ensure that Latino youth and their families are engaged in education.

Stefanie Jackson

Two years ago, Stefanie generated interest and energy to start and sustain the Gay Straight Alliance of Central Oregon. She outreached to students, planned events that helped promote diversity, and partnered with local agencies, like the Human Dignity Coalition, to promote the club. Last year, Stefanie worked with a team of GSA students to organize the 5th annual Bend Pride celebration, an event that included dozens of community booths, musicians, and other festivities that created a fun and safe space for the lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender people to gather.
