Graphic Standards and Style Guide
COCC strives to maintain consistency and integrity in its visual identity. The COCC logo and mark have been carefully designed to reflect our identity. These graphics are familiar to our many audiences, which include: students, faculty, staff, donors, event audiences, our community members and partners. In order to maintain graphic integrity, it is very important that the COCC logo and graphics mark must be used with care using a few simple guidelines.
Writing Style
For writing style, College Relations follows standard Associated Press (AP) style guidelines.

COCC Logo
Only official COCC wordmarks and logos should be used in college communications. The official COCC logo includes the blue concentric circle icon and the text "Central Oregon Community College" to the right of the circle. We also use the "COCC symbol," which is the blue circle with "COCC" located in the of the lighter portion of the smaller circle.
The COCC logo is the graphic representation of our organization and all that we stand for. It is a symbolic mark that will identify us to our students, our community and our peers. The COCC logo combines the two most important visual elements of our brand, the COCC logotype and the COCC symbol. The diagram above illustrates the recognizable graphic features that make the COCC logo unique.
The COCC logo should never be altered or modified. Position, size and color, along with the spatial and proportional relationships of the COCC logo elements are predetermined and should not be altered. If you require other uses, please see guidelines and detail following in this guide. To ensure consistent representation of our brand identity, always use high-quality vendors and reproduction methods.
The COCC logo is designed to be as flexible as possible, however, it is not functional in all situations. Please keep the area immediately surrounding the logo free from distraction in order to preserve the integrity of our mark. This includes extremely strong colors, visually distracting backgrounds and other objects.
COCC Symbol
The COCC symbol (sometimes referred to as the COCC mark) is designed to be flexible for use in many differing situations. The logo used most often should be the Primary Logo with the logotype. However, it is permissible to use just the symbol when space is extremely limited.
Never change proportion, rotate, revise color or otherwise manipulate the logo beyond anything directed in this guide.
The importance of this cannot be stressed strongly enough; modification or re-treatment of the COCC symbol will detract from the integrity of the COCC identity and, more importantly, the value of the COCC brand.
COCC logos are available in a variety of graphic formats. Logo files can be obtained online or by contacting the College Relations Department at 541-383-7596.
