Career Pathways

"Success requires training and discipline and hard work. But if you're not frightened
by these things, the opportunities are just as great today as they ever were."
~ David Rockerfeller

What are career pathways?

Career pathways help guide students towards a specific profession by providing a defined list of courses offering expert training. The various courses help lead students to completion certificates and/or degrees that identify the student as being qualified to work in a particular field. Each pathway program at COCC provides a "roadmap" of study that graphically illustrates the courses or degree degree requirements that will lead students to their desired education and employment goals.

Who can use career pathways?

Career pathways can be used by students recently graduated from high school OR by adults who have been out of school for quite some time. In either case, career pathway students need to have the desire to help themselves and the desire to explore the possibilities of a new profession.

How do I get started?

Your first step is to read about the different types of career pathways that are available at COCC. You can do that on this site by clicking the program links below.

Who do I contact if I've got more questions?

Each career pathways profession area will have contact information for getting in touch with someone who can answer your specific questions. If you have questions about getting started (before choosing a pathway), then feel free to contact us.
