NOTE: Original graded Critical Review must be resubmitted with Optional RevisionTHESE BASIC REQUIREMENTS are met:
___1. 3-to-5 sources reviewed are “Outside Sources” on Tolkien, Fellowship/LOR, related topic___2. Final Draft of Critical Review is typed/wordprocessed and double spaced, and adheres to standard Manuscript format (e.g. header, margins, white paper/black ink, standard font/point size)
___3. Plagiarism is avoided: e.g. complete bibliographical entries are given for each source reviewed, direct quotations are given in quotation marks, etc.

___1. INTRODUCTION:
· Introduces your topic/s or research question/s;
· Describes how you found your 3-to-5 outside sources;
· Explains the most valuable, interesting insights or answers that you gained from completing Critical Review research & review of 3-to-5 outside sources.
___SKILL (d): identifying and investigating informational resources (e.g. library and internet sources) valuable to the study of narrative fiction
___2. ANNOTATED BIBLIOGRAPHY: for each of the 3-to-5 sources . . .
- complete MLA-style Bibliographical Entry is given for each source so that readers could easily locate the source; good faith effort to follow directions & examples;
___COMPETENCY 10. Avoid plagiarism by using an acceptable academic style (e.g. MLA) to cite direct quotations, paraphrases (indirect quotations), and summaries taken from primary and secondary sources.
- Summary of source contents is clear and concise, giving readers a good overview of what each source has to offer on the topic, with some detail on the most valuable information;
- Evaluation of each source states its strengths to justify its recommendation as a valuable source on the topic; any significant weakness or drawback of each source is also presented.
___SKILL (g) seriously considering, and evaluating the merits and limitations of, others' opinions and evidence--especially those different from one's own . . .
___3. Quality of WRITING is clear, correct, coherent – effective communication for a college-level audience.

adapting general academic writing skills to the special forms and requirements

communicating and supporting literary analysis, interpretation, and
