Veterinary Technician Program
The Oregon Department of Education has officially approved COCC’s Veterinary Technician, Associate of Applied Science Degree. This brand new program began in Winter Term 2013. (Note: This is a delayed start. As a result, THERE WILL NOT BE A FALL 2013 REGISTRATION. The next opportunity to enroll in the Veterinary Technology program will be for the Fall Term of 2014)
The Veterinary Technician program is an intensive, full time, 2 year veterinary nursing program. Students who enroll in the Veterinary Technology program progress together as a cohort, attending the lectures, lab's and other activities as a group.
The new Veterinary Technology program at COCC is not accredited by the American Veterinary Medical Association (AVMA) Committee on Veterinary Technician Education and Activities (CVTEA). COCC has applied for accreditation. Application for accreditation does not guarantee accreditation.

Major Code
Contact Admissions and Records to discuss changing your major code to Veterinary Technician (code 5705). This will ensure that you receive advising updates which will advise you on the implications of this change on your financial aid status. You can change your major by contacting the Admissions and Records Office at 541-383-7500 or welcome@cocc.edu. You can also change your major in person in the Enrollment Services area at any COCC campus.
Registration
Registration for Veterinary Technology classes is on a first-come, first served basis according to the college-wide registration process. Be sure to check your registration time and register as close to that time as possible. You should also check your registration status prior to that time to ensure you have no holds on your ability to register. For more information on registering, click on the "Registration Procedures" link and/or attend one of the advising sessions listed above.
