For all GED testers:

At testing, you must show an unexpired, government-issued ID that shows your correct name, address, date of birth, photo and signature.

Any electronic devices (cell phones, watches, pagers, etc.) must be turned off and will be collected by the Examiner/Proctor before testing begins. Please leave bags, backpacks, purses, extra clothing, etc. at home or in your vehicle, as nothing can be in your testing area except items given to you by COCC staff. Although we will provide a storage area for personal belongings, COCC is not responsible for your possessions.

You will not be able to leave the testing room during a test, nor can you leave the testing room until the Examiner/Proctor reviews your test materials and dismisses you.

For new GED testers:

Testers who begin in 2013 must take the computer-based version of the GED tests and must complete testing by 12/05/13. The last day to begin computer-based GED testing on the 2002 series is 12/03/13.

In 2014, the GED Testing Service will release a new version of the GED test. Partial GED test scores previously earned (on computer- or paper-based testing) will become null and void after December 5, 2013 (computer-based testing) or December 4, 2013 (paper-based testing). Previous payments will also become null and void at that time (policy of the GED Testing Service.)

For GED Paper-based testers

For GED paper-based testers who started their GED testing in 2012 (with COCC) you must complete the paper-based GEDs by the deadline of 12/04/13.

Please remember that you will be charged a $20 no-show fee if you do not cancel your paper-based GED test at least 48 hours before the test date

Non-completed paper-based testers who already began testing in paper-based format in 2012 (with COCC) do not have the option of combining paper-based with computer-based testing.
