Tickets on sale May 5

Sergei Khrushchev, senior fellow at the Watson Institute for International Studies at Brown University, will present “Can Russia Have Two Tsars: Medvedev and Putin?” at 7 p.m. on Tuesday, June 3, at the Tower Theatre in downtown Bend. Tickets go on sale Monday, May 5.

Dr. Sergei Khrushchev, the son of Soviet Premier Nikita Khrushchev, will speak about Russia’s future under the leadership of President Medvedev and Prime Minister Putin. Originally a missile engineer in the USSR, Khrushchev is now a U.S. citizen, frequent National Public Radio commentator, and author of more than 250 books and articles, including his father’s memoirs. As an eyewitness to the dissolution of the Soviet Union and to the establishment of the Russian state, he provides a unique perspective on Russia’s future and its changing role in global politics. After his talk, Khrushchev will take questions from the audience.

This evening has been made possible through the support of Pacific Power and Bank of the Cascades. It represents a joint effort of the World Affairs Council of Oregon, the Nancy R. Chandler Visiting Scholar Program and the City Club of Central Oregon to launch a World Affairs Council presence in Central Oregon.

Starting May 5, tickets are available online or at the Tower Theatre Box Office for $25 (premier seating, including an invitation to attend a post-event meeting with Dr. Khrushchev) and $15 standard seating. For information, visit www.cocc.edu/foundation or www.towertheatre.org.
