2013 COCC SALMON BAKE - SAVE THE DATE!

 Date: Saturday, June 1, 2013

Location: Campus Center on College Way

The annual COCC First Nations Student Union Salmon Bakes is scheduled for June 1st here on the Bend COCC Campus. This is a FREE event although donations are accepted for the First Nations Scholarship Fund. The event begins at 10 am and features the Aztec Dancers, the youth Dancers from the Burns Paiute, The Umatilla Dancers, the Warm Springs Dancers and Eagle Thunder Drum group. Ed Edmo, Shoshone/Bannock/Nez Perce storyteller will also be joining us for various peformances thorught the day. Salmon cooked in  the traditional Warm Springs way will be served at noon along with fry bread from Sheena Courtney, beans and venison stew- this meal is also FREE. This year's event will be held outside on the Athletic Field behind the Campus Center Building- some awnings will be available for shade, but please bring plenty of water and sunscreen. We will also have a variety of Native American vendors present selling beautiful crafts, jewelry and more. Raffle tickets are available to purchase for donations made by our generous vendors.
