Program Outcomes
The Licensed Massage Therapy program is approved by the Oregon Board of Massage Therapists and offers courses that will qualify an applicant for an Oregon massage license.
Program Outcomes
Upon completion of the One Year Certificate Massage Therapy Program students will be able to:
- Demonstrate client communication, client consent, and client safety skills at all times.
- Recognize medical conditions in which massage therapy is contraindicated and hazardous to the client.
- Apply the knowledge of anatomy, physiology, and kinesiology during a massage therapy session.
- Perform an entry level relaxation massage.
- Demonstrate an understanding of the biomechanics and kinesiology as they relate to bone, cartilage, tendons, an muscle tissue.
- Evaluate and utilize the information received from a client's health history form.
- Implement a safe and effective massage therapy session based on the initial interview.
- Demonstrate appropriate boundaries in accordance with the Oregon Board of Massage Therapists rules and statures that define Ethical Standards.
