Part-Time Classified

• Medical/RX insurance offered through ODS Health Plans.  DentalPlans are offered through ODS and Willamette Dental. Vision coverage  is offered through ODS Domestic partner coverage is also available. The college contributes a negotiated premium amount; the coverage options dictate the employee's premium contribution.  The primary top package (medical/RX, dental, & vision) costs the employee $61 per month. Part-time employees may add family members to their coverage for additional cost.

 Flexible Spending Account offered through MANLEY Services allows for savings with pre-tax dollars which are earmarked for additional medical expenses, dependent care expenses and the employee's portion of the health insurance premium.

• After six months of employment, you become a member of the Oregon Public Service Retirement Plan, administered by the Public Employees Retirement System (PERS) http://oregon.gov/PERS/. The College pays the employee's required contribution of six percent (of the employee's annual salary) to the program.  

• There are 14 paid holidays per year, including the week the college is closed over winter break.

 Sick leave is accrued at the rate of 4 hours per month worked for .50 FTE employees and 6 hours per month worked for .75 FTE employees.  Sick leave accrues without limit.

Annual Vacation Leave is accrued at the rate of 5 hours per month worked for .50 FTE employees and 7.5 hours per month worked for .75 FTE employees. The accrual schedule changes at 6 years and 10 years to additional hours.  Employees are allowed to carry some accrued hours into the next fiscal year.

• College provided confidential employee assistance program Reliant Behavior Health for employees and family members which allows five visits to a counselor per plan year along with many other support tools and resources.

• 20 percent College Bookstore employee discount on purchases excluding textbooks, electronics, CD's, videos, pop, and candy. (Spouses and children are not allowed a discount.)

• Employees, spouses, domestic partners and child(ren) to the age of 25, shall be allowed to enroll as either a part-time or full-time student free of tuition cost.  Employees must have completed their initial probationary period & be on Regular Status to receive the tuition waiver for themselves and/or family members. 

• Employees may ride the Bend Area Transit Bus for free with a staff ID sticker acquired from the information office.

• Employees may use all college fitness facilities at no cost.  Family members may use the facilities at a minimal cost per term.  The College also has an established wellness program that offers a variety of activities and health resources.

Additional Optional Benefits

Medical Leave Assistance Program (MLAP)  Employees may join this program at minimal cost to receive pay during critical/serious illness.

Optional life insurance may be purchased through Standard Insurance  on the employee, spouse, domestic partner, and child(ren).

Long-term Care Insurance through Unum may be purchased by voluntary contribution of the premium by payroll deduction.  The program is available to full-time and part-time benefit eligible employees and their family members.

• Approved Tax-Sheltered Annuities are available for participation which allow contributions to be made with "pre-tax" dollars.

457 Deferred Compensation Plan, Oregon Savings Growth Plan, is a pre-tax savings/investing program similar to TSA's (403b's), IRA's and 401k's.  It allows employees to save additional funds for retirement through payroll deduction, and to choose investment options that range from conservative to aggressive based on individual needs.
