Can I Get Financial Aid For Summer Term?
Types of aid available: Federal Pell Grant, Direct Loans, Federal Work-Study, PLUS Loan and Private Loan are available for summer. Summer term is the beginning of the 2013-2014 award year. If you have not completed the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA), you should complete the application online right away: www.fafsa.ed.gov.
Requesting loans for summer: We recommend that students wait to accept their loan awards until their aid has been adjusted to include summer term. Students will have their aid adjusted when they register for summer term which started April 22 for returning students. Students who mistakenly accept their 2013-2014 loans before they are revised for summer may request their loans for summer term by contacting the Financial Aid Office using their COCC email or visiting the Boyle Education Center. Students will also need to indicate if they would like the maximum loan amount.
Pell Grant: Will automatically be paid to all students who are eligible and enrolled in summer term. For more information on how summer term enrollment will affect your spring term Pell Grant, please contact the Financial Aid Office.
Types of aid not available: Supplemental Educational Opportunity Grant (SEOG), Oregon Opportunity Grant (OOG), COCC Foundation Scholarship and COCC Honor Scholarship are not available for summer term. More information.
