A High Desert Nature Writing Retreat

August 15-18, 2013 at Grindstone Lakes Lodge

Grab your bedroll and come take part in a nature writing workshop held at Grindstone Lakes in the heart of Oregon's high desert!  Join author and poet Ellen Waterston in a four-day intensive that incorporates readings and writing prompts designed to coax to the surface stories, poems, and short memoirs sparked by the magic and beauty of Oregon's outback. The nature writing workshop will be supplemented by day hikes to further immerse participants into the desert landscape, home to a rich variety of flora and fauna. Housed in the quaint and cozy Grindstone Lakes Lodge, participants will be treated to delicious home-cooked meals and will participate in morning writing workshops and evening critique sessions.  One-on-one sessions with Ellen Waterston addressing writers' goals and objectives are also included. Fee: $850 with a non-refundable deposit of $250 due July 1, 2013. Upon registering, participants will be provided with a list of supplies and detailed instructions for the long weekend.
