Federal Work Study Placement Process

Work-Study Jobs Posted September 14, 2012 for Fall/Winter/Spring Terms 

Information for Work Study Supervisors on Financial Aid webpage

To be eligible for the COCC Federal Work-Study Employment Program, you must have been awarded and accepted Federal Work-Study as part of your COCC Financial Aid award package.

All available work-study positions are listed on COCCStudentJobs 

  • For Summer 2012
    • Jobs will be posted on June 25, 2012.
    • Work can begin as early as July 1, 2012.
  • For Fall 2012
    • Jobs will be posted on September 14, 2012. 
    • Work can begin as early as September 24, 2012 (unless carrying over from summer)

 

Student Steps to Complete the Work-Study Placement Process

  • Student creates an account on COCCStudentJobs  to search for jobs.
  • Student finds a job of interest and contacts the  Contact Person according to instructions.
  • Student must complete Federal Work-Study Employment Application  and submit to the Contact Person.
  • Contact Person schedules an interview with student.

If the student is offered the position, the supervisor provides the student with the Work-Study Employment Packet.  This packet includes:

PLEASE NOTE:

  • Your I-9 form needs to be completed and signed in the presence of your supervisor.  You must verify your identity with a picture driver's license and social security card OR a valid passport.
  • A student is not eligible to begin work until all Work-Study Employment Packet forms are completed and the work-study supervisor is notified.
  • Hired students must complete the online Federal Work Study Employee Orientation AND the COCC Sexual Harassment Training within one week of hire.  Failure to do so will result in termination of contract.
