 Biology 102 - General Biology II

Upon completion of this course, students will be expected to be able to:
 
  • Analyze evidence from the fossil record for examples of macroevolution.
  • Apply an understanding of mechanisms of evolution in the animal kingdom.
  • Understand the quantitative tools to visualize the consequences of genetic variation in the evolution of life.
  • Explain the origin of multicellularity in the animal kingdom.
  • Analyze the molecular, anatomical, and physiological evidence supporting the phylogeny of the animal kingdom as seen in several key phyla.
  • Apply evolutionary theory to examples of animal behavior, including sexual selection in an evolutionary context.
  • Understand the basic structures and functions of the human body and interactions of various organ systems.
